Written by Corie Stark | 04/21/2021

Last year at INBOUND, attendees rejoiced at the announcement of the supercharged Sales Hub Enterprise.

Custom objects? Enhanced acceleration tools? Quoting functionality?

With such exciting developments, everyone may have wondered, “What will HubSpot do next? How will they keep adding value to their growth stack and businesses across the world?”

Two words: Operations Hub.

HubSpot’s latest solution adds to their long list of tools that have helped countless businesses attract leads, nurture their customers, and generate revenue. With the introduction of Operations Hub, organizations of all sizes can run their business from the top-down seamlessly. Here’s a look at the all-new Operations Hub, currently available in Free, Starter, and Pro.

What is Operations Hub, and Who Will It Help?

Sales teams have Sales Hub. Marketers have Marketing Hub, and Service teams have….well, you get it.

Often, the operations team is tasked with maximizing efficiency within an organization, balancing revenue and costs, and encouraging growth. They do this by finding ways to automate specific business processes, integrating systems and platforms for their various departments, ensuring good data quality, building data warehouses, and tapping into business intelligence to make strategic decisions.

In other words, they do a lot. A whole lot.

Operations Hub was designed to help these leaders perform their roles more effectively and create a more united, strategic department that will help their business run more seamlessly while offering a flawless customer experience.

How? The software's robust features will help them manage their processes, systems, and data to sustainably increase the value of their service, products, and of course, overall business. Keep reading for a more detailed description.

What Features Does Operations Hub Have?

Operations Hub has three core components that unite a business’s Platforms, Process, and Perspective.  In order those components are:  Integration (iPaaS), Automation and Data Quality, and Business Intelligence and Data Visualization. These break down as so:

  • iPaaS, otherwise known as Integration Platform as a Service, is any type of cloud-based platform that connects your various cloud or on-premise applications, systems, and technologies. Most companies run on multiple systems, especially between their sales, marketing, service, and operation departments. iPaaS capabilities within Operations Hub improve communication by integrating that software to better share critical data within the organization. Examples include Zapier, MuleSoft, and Segment.
  • With Automation and Data Quality tools within Operations Hub, you’ll be able to build and automate complex workflows across your entire organization that might not otherwise have been possible – while keeping your data secure. Specific features include programmable automation like custom-coded workflow actions, custom-coded bot actions, webhooks, and more. Examples of tools within Operations Hub include Simon, workato, try.io, and automate.io. Additionally, you’ll be able to clean your CRM data like properties, phone numbers, and more with these new operational tasks.
  • Business Intelligence is essential to operations as it helps organizations analyze all their data so they can uncover actionable insights to make the right business decisions. Data Visualization takes that raw data (generally stored in a data warehouse) and turns it into graphic formats to unlock logical correlations, patterns, trends, and more using different visualization tools.
  • Data Sync, formerly known as PieSync, will also play an important role within Operations Hub. Data Sync will allow users to unify their contact and company data (including historical data) from 25 available plug-and-play bi-directional integrations and applications. This will help reduce friction between systems and people, while improving departmental and system alignment. Examples of native integrations you’ll be able to tap into include NetSuite, Zendesk, Stripe, Outlook, and more.

What Are Some Other Features?

Operations Hub is packed with features right out of the gate, with new ones sure to be added later. Currently, the tiers offer:

  • Free – Two-way Data Sync, default field mappings, historical sync and third party integrations.
  • Starter – Everything from Free plus custom field mappings for Data Sync.
  • Pro – Everything from Free and Starter, plus programmable automation (custom coded workflow actions, bot actions, webhooks), data quality automation, and additional portal capacity for reporting, lists, and workflows.

What's Next

Excited? We thought so. But as thrilled as we are, we realize it’s still a new platform with slightly different functionality than HubSpot’s other systems. It’ll take time to learn, get used to, and tinker with, but that’s part of what makes it fun! As we dive into Operations Hub, we’ll share more, so be sure to keep a lookout for future blog content.
