Usage Guide
The Buttons field group in the Rubric theme provides a flexible framework for creating effective calls-to-action throughout your educational or resource-focused website. This module field appears in various components across the theme, allowing you to maintain consistent button styling while accommodating different interaction types.
When setting up buttons in the HubSpot page editor, you’ll notice the Button Type selection dramatically changes which fields become available. For standard navigation, choose Link to direct visitors to other pages or external resources. The Video Popup option is particularly valuable for educational institutions showcasing campus tours, course previews, or faculty introductions—the popup keeps visitors on your current page while providing rich media content.
The HubSpot CTA integration connects directly to your HubSpot marketing tools, enabling lead tracking and conversion analytics essential for enrollment campaigns or event registrations. Meanwhile, Anchor buttons create smooth scrolling navigation within lengthy pages, perfect for course catalogs or event schedules where users need to jump between sections.
Your button styling options correspond to the color schemes configured in your theme settings. Primary and Secondary styles typically use your institution’s brand colors, while Tertiary and Quaternary provide subtle alternatives for supporting actions. The Text Link options work well for less prominent actions or when you need multiple buttons without visual competition.
The Narrow padding option helps maintain visual hierarchy in content-dense layouts common to educational sites. Enable this when placing buttons within compact modules or alongside other interactive elements to prevent overwhelming your visitors with oversized calls-to-action.
