How to Use Form Fields in the Rubric Theme

The Form field configuration in the Rubric theme gives you extensive control over how forms appear and function on your educational or event-focused website. These settings work with any HubSpot form you’ve created in your Marketing Hub, allowing you to customize the presentation without modifying the form itself.

When adding a form to your page through the page editor, you’ll find these options in the module inspector panel on the right side. The Form Heading group lets you add contextual information above your form using the same text styling options available throughout the Rubric theme, ensuring visual consistency across your site.

Multi-step forms work particularly well for complex registration processes or detailed inquiry forms common in educational settings. The Rubric theme automatically converts your form into steps by treating each Rich Text field in your HubSpot form as a section break. This is especially useful for enrollment forms, event registrations, or contact forms that gather extensive information without overwhelming visitors.

The inset labels feature helps create a cleaner, more modern form appearance by moving field labels inside the input areas. This works best for simple text fields and can help save vertical space on your pages. However, avoid this option if your forms rely heavily on placeholder text, as the two features can conflict.

For educational institutions using Salesforce integration, the Salesforce Campaign field automatically associates form submissions with your CRM campaigns, streamlining your lead tracking process. The custom email notification feature allows department-specific forms to route directly to the appropriate staff members, bypassing default form settings.

These form customizations work on any page template in the Rubric theme and are particularly effective on landing pages, contact pages, and event registration pages where form completion is your primary goal.
