Usage Guide

The Blog Post Settings (Local) module gives you precise control over individual blog post layouts without affecting your global blog configuration. This module is particularly valuable when you need specific blog posts to display differently from your site-wide blog template settings.

You’ll typically add this module to blog post templates when certain posts require unique formatting - such as featured articles that need wider content areas, educational posts that benefit from removing distracting sidebars, or announcement posts where social sharing should be hidden. The Rubric theme’s content-first approach makes this local customization especially powerful for education institutions that publish diverse content types.

When implementing this module, start by enabling the “Overwrite Global Settings” option to unlock the customization fields. The element removal feature is particularly useful - you can selectively hide social buttons on formal academic content, remove sidebars from posts with complex layouts, or eliminate footer content on landing page-style blog posts.

For optimal results, adjust the Post Body Max Width when your content includes wide images, tables, or embedded media that need more breathing room. Educational content often benefits from wider layouts to accommodate charts, diagrams, and course materials. The spacing controls help you fine-tune the visual hierarchy between different post elements, ensuring your content maintains the structured, professional appearance that the Rubric theme is designed for.

Remember that these settings only apply to the specific blog post where you’ve added the module. This allows you to maintain consistency across most of your blog while providing flexibility for special content that serves different purposes within your educational or institutional website.
