Usage Guide
The Socials module is designed to enhance your site’s social media presence by providing two distinct interaction types: Follow buttons that link to your organization’s social media profiles, and Share buttons that allow visitors to share your current page content across their networks.
This module works particularly well on blog posts, event pages, and resource pages where you want to encourage content sharing or build your social media following. For educational institutions using the Rubric theme, consider placing Follow buttons in your site footer or sidebar to maintain consistent visibility, while Share buttons work best within or at the end of blog articles and news announcements.
When adding the module through the HubSpot page editor’s drag-and-drop interface, you’ll first choose between Follow and Share functionality. Follow buttons should link to your institution’s official social media accounts and typically remain consistent across your site. Share buttons automatically generate sharing links for the current page, making them ideal for content-rich pages where visitor engagement is a priority.
The module’s responsive layout options give you precise control over how social icons display across devices. You can arrange icons vertically for sidebar placement or horizontally for header/footer integration. The Label Position setting allows you to add descriptive text like “Follow Us” or “Share This Article” positioned around your icon group.
Pro tip: Enable Dark Mode in the Style settings if you’re using the theme’s dark color scheme, as this ensures your social icons maintain proper contrast and visual hierarchy. The spacing controls help you achieve proper visual balance whether you’re displaying two icons or a full array of social platforms.
