How to Use This Template

The Blog Post template in the Rubric theme is specifically designed for educational institutions and resource-heavy websites that need to present detailed content alongside comprehensive supporting materials. Unlike simpler blog templates, this layout emphasizes content discoverability through its structured sidebar and prominent author attribution, making it ideal for academic articles, research posts, and institutional announcements.

When editing a blog post using this template, you’ll work primarily within the post body area in HubSpot’s page editor. The template automatically pulls your blog post’s featured image, title, and metadata to populate the hero section, so ensure these fields are completed in your blog post settings before publishing. The sidebar dynamically displays related content and resources, helping visitors discover additional relevant materials on your site.

Setting up your blog post for optimal results:

  • Configure the Blog Post Settings modules to control which template sections appear and their spacing
  • Enable commenting in your HubSpot portal settings if you want visitor engagement through the comments section
  • Use the social sharing module’s responsive design to your advantage — it displays vertically on desktop for better visibility and switches to horizontal on tablets for space efficiency
  • Leverage the Global Partials system to customize the hero, sidebar, and footer areas without affecting individual posts

The template’s content-first approach means your blog post content remains the primary focus while supporting elements enhance rather than distract from your message. This makes it particularly effective for longer-form educational content where readers benefit from easy access to author credentials, related resources, and social sharing options.
