How to Use This Module
The Indexing and Social SEO module gives you granular control over how individual pages appear to search engines and social media platforms. Unlike global SEO settings configured at the theme or domain level, this module lets you customize search and social behavior on a page-by-page basis within the HubSpot page editor.
You’ll find this module most valuable when working with specific page types that require unique SEO treatment. For example, you might want to prevent draft landing pages from appearing in search results while they’re still being developed, or create custom Twitter Card previews for blog posts that differ from your site’s default social sharing format.
When configuring robot indexing settings, consider using the “noindex” option for thank you pages, internal-only resources, or duplicate content that might compete with your primary pages in search rankings. The “nofollow” link setting is particularly useful for pages containing user-generated content or external links that you don’t want to endorse with link equity.
For social meta customization, remember that your Open Graph settings control how your page appears when shared on Facebook, LinkedIn, and other platforms, while Twitter Card meta specifically optimizes the preview for Twitter shares. The module’s custom meta fields override any default social sharing images or descriptions set in your theme’s global settings.
Since this is a built-in module in the Spark Premium theme, you won’t need to drag it from the asset library. Instead, access it through the Contents tab where it appears as a configuration panel rather than a visual element. Your changes take effect immediately upon publishing, so you can test social sharing previews using Facebook’s Sharing Debugger or Twitter’s Card Validator to ensure your custom meta displays correctly.
