About This Module
The Schema module is an essential SEO tool that helps search engines better understand and display your content in search results. By adding structured data markup to your pages, you can potentially earn rich snippets, enhanced listings, and improved visibility in search engine results pages (SERPs).
Unlike many other Spark Premium modules that focus on visual design, the Schema module works behind the scenes to enhance your site’s technical SEO foundation. The structured data it generates follows Schema.org standards, which are recognized by Google, Bing, and other major search engines.
When to use this module: Add the Schema module to any page where you want to provide search engines with specific context about your content. It’s particularly valuable on your homepage (using Organization schema), blog posts, product pages, event listings, and job postings. Since this is a built-in module, you can add it to any page template without affecting your theme’s visual layout.
Best practices for implementation: Place the Schema module once per page, typically at the top or bottom of your page structure in the Contents panel. The module generates invisible markup, so its position won’t impact your page design. When configuring the company domain field, use your primary website URL to maintain consistency across all schema implementations.
For Organization schema, focus on completing as many fields as possible, including contact information and social media profiles. Blog Post schema works automatically with HubSpot’s blog system, pulling in publish dates and author information. Product schema is ideal for service pages or product showcases, while Event and Job Posting schemas are perfect for their respective dedicated landing pages.
Remember to test your schema implementation using Google’s Rich Results Test tool after publishing to ensure the markup is properly recognized.
