Usage Guide

The Blog Post Hero module is specifically designed for individual blog post pages in your Spark theme, creating an engaging header section that displays key post metadata and imagery. Unlike standard hero modules that work across all page types, this specialized module automatically pulls information directly from your blog post settings, making it ideal for maintaining consistency across your blog template.

When adding this module to your blog post template through the HubSpot page editor, you’ll find it works best positioned at the top of the page, immediately after your navigation. The module intelligently inherits your blog post’s featured image, title, and meta description, reducing the manual work required for each new post you publish.

Best practices for implementation: If you choose the background image layout, consider adding the overlay option for better text readability, especially when your featured images vary in contrast. The side-by-side layout works particularly well for portrait-oriented images or when you want to maintain a cleaner, more structured appearance.

The date flexibility feature proves especially valuable for evergreen content or frequently updated posts. You can switch between showing the original publish date to establish authority or the last updated date to highlight fresh information. This is particularly useful for tutorial posts, product updates, or industry insights that require periodic revisions.

For multi-author blogs, the author display option helps build personal brands within your content strategy. The tag functionality also supports your site’s internal linking structure and topic clustering efforts, making it easier for readers to discover related content while supporting your SEO strategy through better content organization.
