How to Use This Module

The Social Sharing module is designed to increase your content’s reach by making it easy for visitors to share your pages across their social networks. This module works exceptionally well on blog posts, product pages, case studies, and resource landing pages where you want to encourage viral sharing and expand your content’s visibility.

When adding this module to your HubSpot pages through the drag-and-drop editor, consider its placement carefully. The sticky vertical orientation is particularly effective when placed in a narrow sidebar column alongside your main content, as it follows users as they scroll through longer articles. For shorter pages or landing pages, the horizontal orientation works well at the bottom of your content or in a prominent header position.

The download option sets this module apart from basic social sharing tools, making it perfect for gated content pages where you want to offer both social sharing and direct PDF downloads. When using this feature, ensure your downloadable resource is hosted in HubSpot’s File Manager for optimal performance and tracking.

Mobile positioning is crucial for user experience since mobile users are more likely to share content. Test different mobile alignments to see what feels most natural for your audience’s sharing behavior on smaller screens.

The module automatically pulls your page’s meta title and featured image for sharing, but you can override these with custom content. This is especially valuable for Pinterest sharing, where you might want to use a more visually appealing image than your page’s standard featured image. Custom share text also allows you to craft more engaging social media copy that includes relevant hashtags or calls-to-action specific to each platform.
