Ok Glass, you're not even released yet but you're already banned.
In a Seattle dive bar, at least.
Dave Meinert, owner of the 5 Point Cafe in Seattle's Belltown neighborhood, has proactively proclaimed Google Glass as technology non grata in his 24 hour diner, even though the futuristic eyewear isn't slated to be available (tentatively) until later this year.
According to Meinert:
"...we don't let people film other people or take photos unwanted of people in the bar, because it is kind of a private place that people go."
That seems logical and respectful.
In a nod to more traditional technology, Meinert notes:
Beer goggles are fine...
Interestingly, in touting Glass, Google Founder Sergey Brin recently described smartphones as emasculating.
You're standing around and just rubbing this featureless piece of glass...Is this the way you’re meant to interact with other people?
Well, no. But, to Meinert's point, we probably aren't meant to interact with people while wearing glasses that can record them, either.
