Locknet got a managed IT site with an investment estimator and consultation booking
The Customer
Locknet provides managed IT and cybersecurity services to businesses across the upper Midwest, with offices in Onalaska, Wausau and Eau Claire in Wisconsin, Waterloo in Iowa, and Burnsville in Minnesota. Its services cover managed IT and security, cybersecurity and risk management, compliance and audit assurance, IT operations monitoring, and business continuity, for clients that include financial institutions, healthcare organizations, and construction and engineering firms.
Locknet is the sister company of EO Johnson, whose website Lynton had already designed and built on HubSpot CMS. When Locknet issued an RFP for its own redesign, it came with brand guidelines, buyer personas, client testimonials and a plan to shoot its own photos and video for the new site.
The Challenge
Locknet wanted a site that felt like part of the same family as EO Johnson’s while having a distinct look of its own. The brief asked for a more creative design, so the company would stand apart from the firms it competes with.
The site also had to do two specific jobs. The first was to get a prospect onto a sales calendar with the right person for their industry and their state. The second was to help a prospect understand what secure, reliable IT should cost for an organization like theirs. Locknet wanted that tool framed as an estimate of investment, and named accordingly.
The Solution
We built the new site as a child theme of the EO Johnson theme, in Locknet’s own HubSpot portal. That meant the module functionality EO Johnson already relied on could be reused and restyled, and the design and development time went into what made Locknet’s site different.
Discovery came first. We reviewed Locknet’s Google Analytics, produced a site architecture and template recommendation, ran keyword research around a pillar page on managed IT services, and revised the sitemap. The new navigation has a utility bar with email, phone and support links, an “Our Midwest Region” location menu, and a simplified mega menu.
We designed and developed nine templates. The homepage, a Solutions and Industry template with a counting statistics module and an auto-scrolling partner logo strip, a flexible template for the About, Careers and Locations pages with an interactive office map, a Schedule a Consultation landing page, an Organizational Value page with a cost-versus-value comparison chart, blog post and blog listing templates, a HubDB resource listing, and an email template.
The Schedule a Consultation module routes each visitor by industry and by state. Industry groups and the sales calendars shown for each state are configurable from the page itself, and a visitor outside Locknet’s service area sees a short message in place of a calendar. Locknet connected its sales calendars and built an internal notification workflow for out-of-area contacts.
The IT Risk and Investment Estimator is a multi-step interactive form with a progress bar. It asks about the organization’s environment, including whether it works in banking and financial services or healthcare, then shows a profile-based results screen. The form captures a submission even if someone stops partway through the assessment, so sales can follow up. Locknet set up the results workflow and emails on its side of the platform.
The resource library runs on HubDB with filters for resource type, solution and industry. Six case studies and two on-demand webinars were loaded at launch, and the case study and events pages reuse the same listing module pre-filtered to their type.
We also wrote the copy for eight core pages, including the homepage, the service pages and the Organizational Value page, after two interviews with Locknet’s subject matter experts. Locknet’s team wrote the industry, about, careers, case study and location pages. We entered the content for up to 30 pages in two batches, migrated the blog posts automatically, defined the redirects, and launched the site on April 8, 2026, about twelve weeks after the January kickoff. A one-hour training session covered the resource library, related-resource filtering, the consultation scheduling logic and updating the estimator.
What They Got
Locknet’s marketing team can now add resources to the library and set up filtered related-resource modules themselves. They can change which industries and which sales calendars the scheduling page offers, and they can update the questions and output of the estimator themselves.
Prospects can book a consultation with the right salesperson for their state and industry, and they can get an estimate of their IT investment on the site before a first call. The site shares its foundation with EO Johnson’s, so the two brands can evolve together.
Wrapping Up
Our standard on a redesign like this is to reuse what already works, spend the budget on what makes the client distinct, and hand over a site the client’s own team can run. Locknet’s launched in April 2026 with the two tools it asked for.
