American Hustle: Did Ellen’s Oscar selfie pay off for Samsung or Twitter? - Pando Daily

Technically, it wasn't a selfie - Bradley Cooper took the pic (unless you consider it a Bradley Cooper selfie). The big winner here? Twitter. You can take selfies with any camera phone and upload them anywhere. Twitter, not Mobli or even Instagram got Ellen's pic and that's kind of a big deal.

Facebook goes back to basics with latest News Feed redesign - The Verge

Dear Facebook, Google+ is on Line 1 - they want their design back. Oh, and Instagram is on Line 2, they said that even though you own them you're still not allowed to copy them....

How to Know When Your Web Design is Done - Copyblogger

A must read on the tough task of design. The money quote:

"Your design is done when it’s communicating what your business represents and what makes it unique."

Getty Images blows the web’s mind by setting 35 million photos free (with conditions, of course) - Nieman Journalism Lab.

Rule #1 - There's no such thing as a free lunch. Rule #2 - When in doubt - refer to Rule #1.

The fine print says pics can only be used for noncommercial purposes and ads could be embedded or other monetization can occur without your consent.

This feels like more of a marketing play than a free image play for Getty.

Who Runs The (Social Media) World? Girls. - TechCrunch

I mean, women have the power to create life, right? Social media is a mere afterthought for them.

That does it for this weeks Inbound rodeo! See you next week, same time same Lynton Corral.
